Greetings all
I'm new to this site and think its great to have a forum relating to the Kelly Gang, etc. it sure has been long overdue.
I was wondering if anyone has visited Stringybark Crk in recent times, as I am plaining a trip, come this spring for the first time and would love some info on how to get their and if permission is Req, (any help will be well recvd). I have some idea on how to get their but time is limited and hate to waste time.
Also if anyone is plaining a trip to SB crk or any other Kelly site I would be pleased to join you, Oh and the first drinks are on me.

hey joe getting there is very easy just go to tolmie
and just out side of town is a road to the left
that says stringybark creek / tatong
turn there and follow your nose
till you reach the sign to stringybark creek (10ks ~)
turn left and up about 600 metres
is the reserve
or you can come in from tatong
watch your kids as there are many deep mine shafts
off the path.
watch the main road as they have just graded it

Would be happy if ya tagged along............Tim. ps Bruce forgot to mention the leeches ! I still have the hole and mark from our last trip about 8 weeks ago !

joe, all i am saying is do not go walking around stringybark creek in the thick under growth, in shorts , thongs and t shirt, the leeches when its wet, and snakes in summer, are not hiding behind every rock, but they are there and will take advantage of BARE EXPOSED SKIN, just dress as you would for any aussie thick bushland, the tracks are clear, but off them is thick.
and check yourself over, from time to time, the leeches up there are the small black beasts and they are painless,
the whole area is a great place for a walk, enjoy

Thu Jul 1 23:12:00 2004 Bargain Deal !!! Tim
Hey Joe, sounds like you got a bargain there ! I think it normally retails around the $40 mark ! I would rate both Ian Jones books as " Must Have ", his other book " The Fatal Friendship " is also a classic and is my favourite Kelly book. It opens that side of the story right up and when you go into the Woolshed and police caves really brings life to the book and the people in it.
Keep on reading...........Tim.
