Gold Discovery Cairn
Cairn marking the spot where payable gold was first "officially" discovered in Victoria in 1851 (cairn erected in 1935). The Victorian township of Clunes also claims that gold was first discovered in their area!  Warrandyte may have beaten them by a week or so. Cairn is located on Anderson's Creek, Gold Memorial drive, Warrandyte.
